Application Specific Custom Product

Introduction
An application specific custom product or ASCP means integrated circuit or large scale integrated circuit (LSI) of specially ordered product which is based on customer's specification according to its applications. Most of manufacturing process are classified to full Custom IC and Semi-Custom IC. Custom and Semi-Custom ICs are designed and manufactured for one particular customer but they differ in their design and manufacturing methodologies. In a Semi-Custom chip, the starting point is a generic chip containing an array of circuit elements that can be interconnected in various ways to perform desired functions, whereas a Custom chip is designed from scratch. In semi-custom IC, there are standard cells and gate arrays for a particular application.
